Grants & Incentives

Although Grants and Incentives should be availed of the ethos of WSR energy solutions is that any Renewable Energy solution proposed by WSR should have a satisfactory return on investment without availing of any free financial assistance in the form of grants or ongoing incentives. However the introduction of the revolutionary Renewable Heat Incentive(RHI) scheme makes the decision to install renewable energy technologies easy.

What is the RHI Renewable Heat Incentive:

A payment scheme introduced by the UK Government to incentivise and promote the uptake of Renewable heat producing technologies such as heat pumps, solar thermal, biomass etc… Participants will save money by eliminating or reducing the need for gas or oil, both of which are becoming increasingly expensive year-on-year. Also, participants will be paid for the hot water and heat that they generate and use themselves. It depends on exactly what systems are used and how large they are as to what the exact tariff level is

How does it work:

Accredited Renewable Technologies installed to the required standard will receive a fixed income for every kilowatt hour (unit) of heat produced. Therefore Renewable technologies that are already saving you money in comparison with conventional fossil fuel based heating systems i.e. Oil, gas etc… will be further rewarded by an additional payment per unit of heat produced. Essentially you are being paid to heat and produce hot water for your building with a renewable energy heating system.

Who can Avail of the RHI scheme:

England Scotland and Wales can avail of the RHI scheme while buildings in Northern Ireland can avail of RHINI scheme. Both schemes are administered by OFGEM and in principle function using similar guidelines however there are slight differences between both schemes with regard to the tariffs available for accredited Renewable Technologies and also on specific installation and application criteria .

Who Sectors can avail of the RHI Scheme:

Essentially the RHI scheme is available to Domestic and Non-Domestic applicants which means domestic, industrial, commercial and agriculture can avail of the RHI scheme. It should be noted that two schemes exist:-
1. Domestic RHI
2. Non-Domestic RHI
